On September 10 in Birmingham, England, Efrain “Hecho en Mexico” Escudero will make his debut in the BAMMA fight organization when he takes on Tim Radcliffe in a lightweight showdown.
Efrain has been very focused for his camp, and is in the best shape of his life and is ready to show the MMA friendly fans of England his best. We are so proud of your preparation for this fight Effy, almost time to do your thing!
Facing number one title contender Jim Miller, “Smooth” Ben Henderson had his best performance to date, dismantling the tough Miller and winning a lopsided unanimous decision. Many of the MMA experts had picked Miller to be too much for Smooth, but in the end Benson showed that he is a force to be reckoned with in the UFC lightweight division.
We are so proud of Ben and his fantastic work ethic and fantastic leadership. He is truly a class human being and as good a fighter as there is on our planet.
Thank you Ben for being such a great role model, there are many more wonderful moments in your future.

All work and no play make anyone unhappy, so today Ben and Efrain took our younger generation out for a day away from the Lab. We work hard in the gym and it is nice to see our team become closer outside of the gym too. A huge part of this is the leadership shown by our more experienced guys. Thanks to Ben and Effy for taking care of the team and making everything we do better. These kids are the future of our team and we feel very grateful to have them as part of our team.

Joe Gemma has been training in BJJ for a while, training on the east coast, Travis Lutter’s school in Texas, and now has been training with us at the Lab for a couple of years.
He keeps busy with his family, his wife and two beautiful daughters, and his work, but still took some time to share this cool flying armlock.

After much needling and constant bugging, Yaddi has finally joined the Facebook craze. Yaotzin is a super tough guy and sports a 16-6 record and is on a 4 fight win streak. Though his fight record is stellar, his efforts in the ring pale to his contributions in the gym. Yaddi is always there for his team mates and is willing to go the extra mile for guys like Efrain Escudero and Ben Henderson. He is the quintessential team player.
The point of this? Time to shine the spotlight on this selfless young man and help him take the next step in his career. Well, only one more hard week of training and then Smooth and his team are off to face Jim Miller in Milwaukee, WI. Camp has been going well and Ben is looking sharp as we head into the final turn. We would like to take this chance to thank Justin Salas and Shamar Bailey for coming out and throwing some “southpaws” into the mix. Justin and Shamar are tough fighters and great guys and we have been truly lucky to have them here.
That’s about it, we will be ready to go for this one, you can count on it.
