Friday night at the Wild Horse Pass Casino, The MMA Lab Elite team did it again, notching 3 wins in an outstanding night of fights. Jr. Cortez won a dominating 3 round decision in his amateur debut. Abraham Cortez was next, but unfortunately had his fight stopped early, robbing him of his chance to finish his fight. The crowd’s boos were loud and drowned out the announcement at the end of the fight. Abraham will be back, better than ever, after this disappointing result. Ashley Gooch moved back up to heavyweight and scored a brutal third round knockout to win his fight. Ashley is a great guy, but if he hits you, it might be the end of the night for you! Joe Riggs ran his win streak to 5 as he won with another first round TKO. Joe is steaming his way back to the UFC and we are so happy he is now part of our team. So proud of our team and how they always stick together in good and bad times. Congratulations to all the fighters that competed, you are true warriors!
This Friday, at the Rage in the Cage at the Wild Horse Pass Casino, four of the MMA Lab Elite will step into the ring. Joe Riggs, Ashley Gooch, Abraham Cortez and Junior Cortez will all be putting it on the line that night. Here is a video that introduces the guys, and lets you get to know them a little bit. The MMA Lab would like to invite our entire Lab family to join with our Elite Fight Team as we participate in a 5k walk at the Phoenix Zoo to support the fight against Lymphoma. The Elite team, including Ben Henderson, Efrain Escudero, Jamie Varner, Joe Riggs, and John Moraga will be there early to sign autographs and take photos in support of the cause. This effort hits close to home as our teammates Yaotzin and Victor Meza’s mother, Victoria, has recently been diagnosed, and is fighting this terrible disease. Please come out and support the fight against Lymphoma, and our Lab team this Saturday at the Phoenix Zoo. Hope to see everyone there!
